TOPIC:
“THE GOD WHO SEES YOU”
SCRIPTURE:
“She answered God by name, praying to the God who spoke to her, “You’re the God who sees me!”
— Genesis 16:13 (MSG)
DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT:
Hagar was in the wilderness, rejected, wounded, and alone. But in that place of pain, God appeared to her, called her by name, and gave her hope for the future. She named Him El Roi, the God who sees.
There are moments when life makes you feel invisible, your efforts, pain, or faithfulness seem unnoticed. But the God of Hagar is still alive today. He sees you. He knows your name. He knows your situation. And He has a word for you.
You are not abandoned. Heaven is watching over you. You are not hidden in the crowd. Your obedience, your tears, your quiet sacrifices, God sees all. He is not a distant deity; He is intimately involved in your story.
ACTION PLAN:
1. Reflect on moments you’ve felt unseen—thank God for still seeing you.
2. Call Him “El Roi” today in worship.
3. Encourage someone else who feels invisible or forgotten.
4. Write a short note or journal entry about how God has seen you in dark seasons.
5. Spend 10 minutes meditating on Genesis 16:13.
PROPHETIC DECLARATION:
I declare that El Roi sees me today. I am not forgotten. I am not overlooked. My story matters to God. Every hidden tear, every silent prayer, and every step of faith I take is visible before my Father. I walk in boldness, comfort, and divine attention today. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
