TOPIC:
WHEN IT LOOKS QUIET, HE’S STILL WORKING
SCRIPTURE:
> “Jesus replied, ‘You don’t understand now what I am doing, but someday you will.’”

DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT:
Sometimes, life feels like it’s on pause, your prayers seem unanswered, your plans are delayed, and your steps feel stuck. But silence is not absence. Delay is not denial. God is still working, deeply, intentionally, and silently.
Just like in John 13, when Jesus was washing the disciples’ feet, they didn’t fully grasp His actions. It seemed unusual, confusing, even beneath Him. But He told them, “You’ll understand later.” That’s how divine strategy works: God often plants His greatest breakthroughs beneath the soil of mystery.
When it feels like heaven is quiet, don’t misinterpret that silence as disinterest. Sometimes, God does His deepest work in the dark. Just like a seed dies before it rises, just like Jesus had to go silent in the grave before resurrection power was unleashed, your current “pause” might be a divine setup.
Keep trusting. Keep worshiping. Keep obeying. The silence will not last forever. And when the curtain finally pulls back, you’ll see that God never stopped working, you just weren’t meant to see it yet.
ACTION POINT:
Take five minutes to worship God without asking for anything. Thank Him specifically for what you don’t yet understand. Then write this somewhere visible: “Even when I can’t see it, God is working.”
Say it every day this week.
PROPHETIC DECLARATION:
I may not understand everything now, but I trust God’s hand in every season. Even in silence, I know He’s working. My spirit is calm, my heart is confident, and my future is secure. In Jesus’ name, amen!
